Kelso v Edinburgh Accies

Saturday 16th June 2018

In a game that looked unlikely to go ahead with rain beckoning at Shedden Park, Kelso were thrown in to bat by the away side Edinburgh Accies. Kelso got off to a poor start, losing their top three wickets for only 15 runs. However, an impressive fight back from C Adams (54) and T Van Ingan-Kal (34) put Kelso back on the front foot, before veteran D Wilson (39) supported Adams impressively to push Kelso to a total of 163 from 40 overs. Pick of the bowlers was L Mann with figures of 3-36.

Once again, Kelso’s bowling proved too strong for the away side, removing the first 5 wickets for only 8 runs thanks to tight lines from G Davidson (3-33) and C Adams (2-17). The Accies middle order began the fight back with strong hitting from A Francis (35) and A Kumar (29). However, in the end strong death bowling from B Grindell (1-20), M Eckard (2-22) and C Davidson (2-4) proved too much, with Kelso winning by 63 runs.
