Kelso v Murrayfield DAfs
Saturday 30th June 2018
Kelso travelled to Murrayfield DAFs last weekend on a glorious Saturday afternoon. After losing the toss and being put out to field, Kelso got off to the best possible start with G. Davidson (2-19) rattling through the top order, ably supported by B. Grindell (1-23). At 62-5 DAFs looked to be in big trouble, however a strong fightback from P. Hawkins (19) and S. Fergusson (52) put the hosts back on track for a strong finish. In the end, consistent bowling from C. Davidson (2-18) and C. Adams (3-34) restricted the home side, DAFs ending their innings on 158.
Kelso got off to a bad start losing T. Van Ingan-Kal for 0 inside the first 2 overs. J. Galling (16) and M. Eckard (37) battled hard to rebuild the innings, before both being removed by A. Rhode (2-21). This left C Adams and G Davidson to rebuild, who battled to ensure Kelso were in a commanding position to launch an attack at 92-3 with 12 overs remaining. T. Roberts (20) and M. Henderson (17) provided the catalyst for the final run chase with some strong power hitting, before Adams smoked a final four through the on-side, resulting in him finishing on 39 not out and Kelso winning by three wickets.
Kelso play table leaders Grange 2s this Saturday at Shedden Park in what is set to be an enthralling fixture.
