Dunnikier v Kelso

Kelso beat Dunnikier by 8 wickets at Dunnikier Park in the first Championship game of the season. Kelso won the toss and fielded first. On a seaming pitch Dunnikier got off to a good positive start before S. Cessford got the breakthrough removing both openers. M. Eckard bowled a tidy spell taking 21-1 off his 10 overs. Wickets from Steven Patterson and Callum Davidson ensured Dunnikier were restricted to 170. Captain M. Sharif was the pick of the batsmen scoring a well compiled 74.
Kelso got off to a solid start with openers G. Davidson and C. Adams building a partnership of 70 before C. Adams was dismissed. G. Davidson continued to score freely, before eventually being dismissed for a battling 55. The two overseas players S. McMahon and M. Eckard continued their fine form with the bat, guiding Kelso home to a dominant win inside 40 overs. S.McMahon (38*) and M. Eckard (36*) will look to continue this form into next week's fixture away to local Borders rivals, Gala.
