Kelso v Gala

Kelso win border derby over Gala at Shedden Park. The home side won the toss and elected to bat first and made the Gala bowlers work hard from the get go. A solid start from the home side layed the foundations for a big total with openers C.Adams (86) and G.Davidson (72) putting on a 140 run partnership for the first wicket. This allowed Red Ink specialist S.McMahon to notch up another 57 not out guiding Kelso to 259 for 4 off their 50 overs.

S.Cessford picked up where he left last week bowling a great line and length and got on top of the Gala top order taking 2-25. M.Eckard also contributed with 2-6 and young M.Mason playing his first East of Scotland match picking up the final wicket. Catch of the day goes to S.Patterson who took a worldie of a catch at short cover.But the afternoon belonged to C.Adams who ripped through Gala taking 5-27 in what was a great spell of bowling for the Shedden Park faithful to watch. Kelso winning by 184 runs and keeping in the hunt for second position.
